The PSNI has appealed for information as a convicted murderer is now unlawfully at large after being granted day release from prison.
Gary Anderson, 29, was convicted in 2023 alongside his brother Sean Anderson of the murder of Karol Kelly in Derry in 2018.
Mr Kelly, a father of five, was stabbed multiple times during an altercation in the Grafton Street area of the city.
Earlier that night the 35-year-old had been involved in attacking the two brothers at their nearby home.
He was then pursued from the house and caught in an entry, where witnesses reported seeing him being punched and kicked on the ground.
Mr Kelly was also stabbed repeatedly, including a fatal wound to his chest. An appeal by the brothers to have their sentences reduced was thrown out last year.

The PSNI are now appealing directly to Gary Anderson to hand himself in.
“Police are appealing for information to help locate Gary Anderson, who is currently unlawfully at large,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said: “The 29-year-old, who was sentenced in 2023 to 15 years for murder, was on day release from prison today, Monday 14th September.
“As of this time, Gary – who is approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, of slim build and with brown hair – has still not returned to prison or been apprehended.
“We appeal directly to Gary to hand himself in.
“We would also ask anyone who has seen him, or who knows of his whereabouts, not to approach him directly but to contact police on 101, quoting reference 555 of 14/09/26.”
