Valve has unveiled the price for its wireless VR headset, Steam Frame, showcased at GDC 2026. The headset is currently available in two configurations: Steam Frame 256GB, priced at $1,059, and Steam Frame 1TB, priced at $1,299.
For pre-orders, Valve is using a lottery-style system. Sign-ups close September 17 at 10 AM PT, after which buyers are randomly sorted into either the pre-order list or the waitlist. The first invites should go out September 18.
The headset comes with controllers and a copy of Half-Life: Alyx and is designed to stream Steam games while also supporting standalone play. The kit includes the headset and Steam Frame Controllers, which feature a split gamepad layout. Through the Steam Frame Standalone Verified program, players can check which titles in their library, both VR and non-VR, will run in standalone mode. The current list includes Cuphead, Hades and Hades II, Brotato, Portal 2, Balatro, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and more.
