G-Star is demonstrating its versatility and cultural relevance through new collaborations and partnerships.
On Tuesday, G-Star and Wu-Tang Clan, in association with Iconic Artists Group, announced a multi-year collaboration.
The first collection will debut this month, timed with Wu-Tang Clan’s performance at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta, before rolling out worldwide in time for their historic induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November.
The Amsterdam-based brand said additional drops, including capsules for women, will launch in 2027.
Wu-Tang Clan members teased the partnership earlier this year when they wore a limited-edition tour jacket, sourced and embroidered in the Netherlands, onstage in Amsterdam.
G-Star said the collaboration marks a new chapter in how the New York-born hip-hop group’s cultural language is expressed through fashion. Instead of adding Wu-Tang branding to G-Star products, G-Star’s signature washes and silhouettes will be reworked with Wu-Tang detailing, alongside outerwear and knitwear.
“Wu-Tang built a world out of nothing but skill, code and imagination—that’s the same discipline behind every pair of jeans we make. Atlanta feels like the right place to introduce that to the people,” said Rob Schilder, G-Star CEO.
G-Star also released the fourth edition of The Denim series, a project where emerging designers are encouraged to push denim beyond convention and use the fabric as a platform for research and new perspectives. This time, the brand partnered with Tombogo, a Los Angeles-based design studio founded by Tommy Bogo.

The Denim 004 Tombogo
The limited-edition jean, called The Denim 004 Tombogo, combines the designer’s industrial, forward-looking aesthetic with G-Star’s utilitarian roots. The unisex jean features a paneled construction with strap-and-buckle elements, concealed pockets beneath the outer layers and gun metal hardware throughout.
The design was inspired by harness boots with buckle straps and how that could be translated to denim. “For this project, I approached denim through a technical lens, aiming to create something new. Translating the idea of harness straps into a pair of jeans felt like a natural way to bring Tombogo’s design language into denim, while connecting with G-Star’s heritage in utility and construction,” Bogo stated.
Bogo launched Tombogo in 2020. The studio creates modular products, immersive experiences and cultural moments that extend beyond traditional apparel. In fashion, he’s become known for transformable e garments and wearable technology.
“We’re excited to continue The Denim series with Tombogo, a designer who approaches fashion through innovation and purpose. Tommy’s ability to translate complex ideas into wearable design aligns naturally with G-Star’s focus on craftsmanship and experimentation,” said Gwenda van Vliet, G-Star chief brand officer.
Other collaborators in G-Star’s The Denim series have included Jacques Agbobly, KNWLS and Ottolinger. The Denim 004 Tombogo is available now and retails for $310.
