Emmerdale star Rebecca Sarker has exclusively told Inside Soap that a romantic relationship isn’t on the cards for her character, Manpreet Sharma.
Manpreet has remained single since her split with Charles over two years ago, which came about after the village GP made a drunken pass on Billy and the subsequent death of Charles’ son, Ethan.

“Manpreet has made a few references to the single life recently, with her microwave meal for one,” recaps the actress, who first appeared on the Dales in 2018. “I think she’s said that twice now – don’t rub it in! Maybe she’s perfectly content being single?
“Everyone’s so entangled and I don’t think there’s room for a relationship, she’s probably happy having the odd interaction with Billy or Ross!”

Away from her personal life, Manpreet is a diligent doctor who has many villagers on her books, from Eric Pollard to Charity Dingle. But there’s one character in particular that Rebecca would like her alter ego to cross paths with…
“I get to see lots of people in the surgery,” she muses. “But I don’t have much to do with Kim, so it’d be nice for us to have more scenes. But I bet Kim Tate probably goes private!”
