Garda investigation ongoing

Emergency services rushed to the scene of an arson attack on Cork city’s Northside last night.
The blaze was reported at around 10.15pm in the Fairhill area and saw an urgent response from Gardaí and the city’s fire service.
Brave firefighters arrived on the scene within minutes and were able to extinguish the flames and make the area safe.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed that all occupants were reported as evacuated, and an investigation has been launched.
They told Cork Beo: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene following report of an incident of criminal damage by fire at a residence in the Fairhill area of Cork, that occurred on Saturday 19th September 2026 at approximately 10:15pm.
“All occupants were reported as evacuated. Fire services extinguished the fire and made the area safe. Investigations ongoing.”
