Speaking to Variety India, Kunal opened up about the viral content and explained why he finds the creativity behind such memes entertaining. He said that while these internet jokes are not a regular subject of discussion within the family, they do share a laugh when someone brings them up.“I find the sense of humor that exists out there amazing. I laugh out loud with the memes and content. It’s so brilliant. Everything is open to everyone. Even the audience has an audience. People have their phones and can put content out there. There is genuine talent as well. People are putting out humor, dancing and more. Unfortunately, sometimes people put out hate as well.”
Social media memes are not a regular topic at the Kemmu-Bhatt family dinner table
Despite the continued online interest in the interconnected families, Kunal said that viral posts and memes rarely become a serious topic of conversation at home. Instead, the family tends to take such content lightly.“Honestly, it’s not a topic of discussion. But we do laugh at memes if someone brings it up. We are also thankful and grateful that we are relevant and people are interested in talking about us. It would be really dangerous when nobody is talking about you or interested in you. It’d be like, ‘Do I even exist?’”

The meme has also brought renewed attention to ‘Zakhm’, the 1998 Mahesh Bhatt-directed drama in which Kunal appeared as a child actor. The film has resurfaced in online conversations as users revisit the actor’s early screen appearances while building the elaborate relationship-based joke.
