Christina Applegate is seemingly trying to get back to normal following her mysterious four-month hospital stay.
On Monday, the actress shared her first Instagram post since being discharged last month, according to TMZ. She posted a video that zoomed into her face as she sweetly smiled. Applegate then tilted her head to show off her new hair color. A new marking can also be seen on her face, though it’s unclear what it is.
“Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha thank you @davestanwell for brightening up my cloudy day. Love you and love to you all out there,” Applegate wrote in her caption.
The “Dead to Me” star was admitted to the hospital in March and discharged in August.
It’s unclear why she was admitted and whether it was related to her multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis she received in 2021.
In April, one month into her hospital stay, news of her stay made headlines, prompting her rep, Ame Vanlden, to give a statement.
“She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast,” Vanlden told USA Today at the time. Vanlden declined to comment on Applegate then-medical status.
Before being admitted to the hospital, the 54-year-old “Married With Children” star also gave an update on her health in a February interview with People. She revealed to the outlet that that she spends most of her time confined to bed due to the chronic pain associated with MS. However, even in her condition, she has one priority each day that keeps her motivated: driving her 15-year-old daughter, Sadie, to school.
“I want to take her; it’s my favorite thing to do. It’s the only time we have together by ourselves,” she told the outlet. “I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do,” Applegate revealed.

Applegate shares Sadie with her husband, Martyn LeNoble, 56.
According to the Mayo Clinic, multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disorder that attacks the central nervous system and can cause weakness and difficulty walking. Applegate has been photographed walking with a cane in recent years.
“My life isn’t wrapped up with a bow,” Applegate further told People. “People’s lives, sorry for lack of a better term, f—— suck sometimes. So I’m being as honest and raw as I possibly can.”
