The winners of the second series of The Traitors Ireland have been revealed following a tense finale at Slane Castle.

Anna, a 27-year-old postal worker from Dublin, and Diego, a 40-year-old physician associate from Cork, emerged victorious after the final two Traitors, Carla and Pauric O, were banished from the game.
The result came down to a dramatic endgame, with Diego using a dagger during the final Round Table as the Faithfuls finally closed in on the remaining Traitors.

Anna and Diego ultimately revealed that they were both Faithfuls after they banished Pauric O at the Fire Pit, securing the €45,850 prize pot between them.
They each leave the game with €22,925.
Speaking on The Traitors Ireland: Uncloaked after the finale aired, Diego revealed that his suspicions about Pauric had begun to grow in the closing stages of the game.
He said he began questioning why Pauric, who had been so influential among the group, was still in the castle, but remained unsure whether Pete could also be a Traitor.
It was Pete’s banishment that finally convinced him.

“When he stood up and said, ‘I am a Faithful,’ I went, ‘Oh my God, it’s Pauric!’” Diego said.
He also said being underestimated had worked to his advantage throughout the series.
“I tend to be underestimated because I’m not an alpha character,” he said. “I’m still observing. I analyse, and then I think I was more calculated than reacting by emotions.”
Anna said reaching the end of the game had felt “surreal”.
“I didn’t expect to last the first week, let alone to the very end,” she said.

Diego had entered the competition alongside his husband Denis, with the couple keeping their 11-year marriage secret from their fellow players.
Denis was murdered by the Traitors earlier in the series, leaving Diego to continue in the game alone.
The second series began on 30 August with 23 players entering Slane Castle and played out over 12 episodes on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.

Hosted by Siobhán McSweeney, the series saw the Faithfuls attempting to identify and banish the Traitors in their midst while building the prize pot through a series of missions.
Tuesday night’s finale brought the second series to a close.
