Grey’s Anatomy star Sarah Drew was spotted taking in the sites and cuisine in Galway while on location filming a new feature film in Ireland.

The American actress shared some snaps from her trip to Galway on social media, as she has been doing while visiting various Irish cities and counties over the past few weeks.

This time, however, Drew brought her husband, Peter Lanfer, along for some sightseeing shenanigans, including a picturesque dinner at Glenlo Abbey Hotel and Estate.

The Virginia native is most well-known for playing Dr April Kepner in Grey’s Anatomy – the medical drama which has been running since 2005 and is now on its twenty-second season.

The series features other highly regarded actors such as Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh, Katerine Heigl, and Eric Dane.

Drew has been based in Cork on-and-off while filming Jimmy – a biopic about the famous late Hollywood actor James Stewart’s time serving as a bomber commander in the US Air Corps during the second World War.

The film stars New Zealand actor KJ Apa, most well-known for playing Archie in the series Riverdale.

In the comment section on Drew’s social media posts, fans have shared suggestions for where her and her husband should stop off next in the city of tribes – including O’Connor’s Pub in Salthill – which the actress took on board and visited.

“Ireland looks great on you,” a number of fans commented on the actress’ post.

So far on her Irish “adventure”, Drew has posted about visiting Cobh, Blarney Castle and stone, and Galway.

With Jimmy not set to premiere until November 2026 and as filming only started in the Cork location in September, Ireland could be set to see a lot more of Sarah Drew and her fellow Hollywood counterparts.
