Tom Cruise is letting you know he’s still got it. The silver screen star visited The Jennifer Hudson Show on Tuesday to promote his new film Digger (out in theaters this Friday). He took a trip down the show’s famous spirit tunnel, and briefly reenacted his dance moves from his breakout 1983 film, Risky Business. Cruise broke out the black sunglasses as the talk show’s staff gave a little remix of Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band’s classic “Old Time Rock & Roll,” a nod to Cruise’s Joel Goodson character.
Later, Cruise joked to Hudson about his trip down the tunnel:
I love it. They had to pull me out of the spirit. I wanted to dance with more people.
Cruise’s upcoming movie is a departure for the actor, as he plays Digger Rockwell, a Texas oil baron at the center of drama after his company causes an ecological disaster that could result in a nuclear war. Moviegoers will see Cruise slip into prosthetics, makeup, a fat suit, a Southern accent, and thinning hair to tackle this latest project. Cruise said about the oil man character:
It’s the most original film I’ve ever seen and one of the most moving. This character is outrageous, he says things that people may think about, don’t say out loud, things that they’ve never thought about and didn’t expect anything like that to come out.
