A fresh batch of celebrities joined the BBC’s ultimate game of deception last week, but fans were left hanging after just two episodes. The Celebrity Traitors season two premiered on October 1 and saw host Claudia Winkleman welcoming 21 stars into the famous castle.

She quickly split the group into Traitors and Faithfuls, choosing veteran actor Richard E. Grant and Love Island presenter Maya Jama as this season’s Traitors. The duo later recruited comedian James Acaster to join the dark side, but his promotion led to the brutal murder of journalist Amol Rajan.

But viewers were just getting stuck into the drama when episode two abruptly ended on a cliff-hanger. The instalment faded to black as the contestants had gathered around for their very first roundtable vote. So when can fans find out who was banished from the BBC castle?

Episode three of The Celebrity Traitors season 2 will air on BBC One this Thursday, October 8, at 8pm. Episode four will broadcast at the same time on Friday, October 9.

A synopsis for the third episode teases: “As the first banishment unfolds, the Faithful are hoping that they’ve caught a Traitor, while the Traitors are desperate to keep their identities concealed.

“The celebrities must put their trust in one another during a mission that fuels suspicion and paranoia amongst the players. When night descends, tensions rise at the Round Table. Will the players succeed in exposing a Traitor, or will an innocent Faithful be wrongfully banished?”

Viewers will be forced to wait another six days before tuning into episode five, which is set to air next Thursday, October 15.

Fans have voiced complaints about the show’s release schedule (Image: BBC)

This gameshow’s rollout schedule has sparked frustration among fans online, with one X user posting: “I hate the scheduling because why do we have to wait SIX days for the next episode?? #CelebrityTraitors.”

One person agreed, adding: “I WANNA BINGE WATCH,” while another tweet said: “I wanna know what happens straight away, I can’t wait a few more days honestly.”

Yet another fan chimed in: “It is psychological warfare,” with a fourth adding: “Ending it MID BANISHMENT and then making us wait SIX DAYS is actually evil.”

But others have been celebrating the slow-release schedule because it ramps up anticipation. “Best part of TV, waiting is the best part,” commented one.

And a final watcher confessed: “I like having to wait. Everyone expects everything instantaneously these days then you’ve got nothing to look forward to.”
