There’s a reason Cork is called Ireland’s ‘food capital’. From the English Market to our many Michelin-honoured restaurants and hotels – there’s no shortage of great places for top-tier grub.
And that’s exactly why Ireland AM hosts Eric Roberts and Martin King recently visited the Rebel County to kick-off off their big ‘foodie adventure’ across the Wild Atlantic Way. The TV presenters were seen at a number of well-known landmarks – and Eric was clearly taken by one town along the county’s coastline, which already has a glowing reputation across Ireland.
Eric has now shared a relaxed video showing the start of their journey to his hundreds of thousands of followers on social media. The footage starts at the heart of Cork outside Leeside’s English Market – which is now slated for a major €7.5m regeneration boost.
The hosts call by a number of popular spots including O’Flynn’s Gourmet Sausage and K O’Connell Fishmongers for a quick snack, before trying out the once-viral Young Offenders dance. Safe to say – the lads do it a lot better on the show. You can check out the full video below:

Soon after, they head down to Kinsale and Eric tries his hand at ‘splitting the G’ with a Guinness poured at the popular, family-run Oscar Madison’s pub.. The influencer had plenty of praise for the town, which is always incredibly popular with tourists from across Ireland and abroad.
While walking through the streets, he described it as one of “the most colourful towns” he has ever seen, adding that it’s “absolutely gorgeous.”
Not long after, the pair sit down to enjoy some Michelin-starred restaurant in the area. While they don’t name the restaurant, from the decor, it looks to be the critically acclaimed fine-dining spot Bastion by the Main Street.
It was a lovely day out for the duo – especially for Eric, who admitted he didn’t really have to do much filming, and could just enjoy the great food and sights. The trip comes as part of the pair’s Wild Atlantic Way journey with Ireland AM, where they “discover the local flavours, people and stories that make Ireland’s food experiences worth travelling for.”
Eric, a father of one, shot to fame on social media when his TikTok videos took off during the pandemic. He had previously worked as an SNA in Donegal, but now works as a TV presenter alongside Martin and Cork’s own Elaine Crowley.
