A EuroMillions player in Limerick has kicked off the Bank Holiday weekend half a million euro richer after scooping the top prize in Friday night’s EuroMillions Plus draw.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at Sean’s Shop on New Road in Johnsgate Village.

The winning numbers drawn on Friday, 23rd October, were 1, 11, 14, 40, and 45.

National Lottery spokesperson Emma Monaghan said: “There could be a very exciting Bank Holiday weekend ahead for one EuroMillions player in Limerick who is now holding a €500,000 winning ticket. We are urging everyone who purchased a ticket at Sean’s Shop in Johnsgate on Friday to check their tickets very carefully.”

She added that while over 47,000 players across the country won prizes on Friday night, the Johnsgate ticket-holder was Ireland’s biggest winner.

National Lottery officials advise the lucky ticket holder to sign the back of the ticket immediately and keep it in a safe place. The winner should contact the Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange their collection at Lottery Headquarters in Dublin.

There was no winner of the main €70 million jackpot on Friday night, which means Tuesday’s top prize will roll towards an estimated €80 million.

According to the National Lottery, nearly 30 cent in every euro spent on tickets goes directly to Good Causes nationwide, funding projects across sport, youth, health, heritage, and the arts.
