Dawn of War IV will offer more than 70 missions across four faction campaigns when it launches on December 3. Its new overview trailer also confirms co-op campaign play, 30 multiplayer maps and the return of The Last Stand.

The official game overview covers the Space Marines, Orks, Necrons and Adeptus Mechanicus. Their campaigns include branching choices, while Skirmish and online battles provide separate ways to play beyond the story.
The Space Marine campaign includes two playable Chapters.
A separate Space Marine faction breakdown explains how the Blood Ravens and Dark Angels approach the war differently. The Blood Ravens arrive on Kronus short of resources, with missions built around smaller engagements, reconnaissance and precision attacks. The Dark Angels have access to heavier equipment, which shapes their missions accordingly.
Across matches, the faction emphasizes developing relatively expensive units through equipment and upgrade choices. Outside combat, the expanded Army Painter lets players customize colors, decals and equipment.

The first year includes free features and story expansions.
The Last Stand supports a team of three players. The post-launch roadmap separately lists free additions including Crusade Mode, maps, modes, Commanders and a Mission Editor, alongside two major story expansions and another playable faction. The announcement does not describe those story expansions as free.

Commander Edition owners can start on November 30, three days before the standard release. A closed beta began on October 21 for selected participants, covering 1v1 Skirmish and multiplayer with all four factions. That test remains under a nondisclosure agreement; the developer has not presented it as an open public demo.
