Stephanie Burnette, an author based in the Upstate, will promote her first book, “100 Things to Do in Greenville,” with a stop at Soby’s in Greenville.
Reedy Press, the book’s publisher, reached out to Burnette to craft a book focusing on 100 things to experience and places to visit around Greenville County at various times of the year. Some of the work’s highlights include the TD Saturday Market, Liberty Bridge, Falls Park, the Westin Poinsett Hotel, euphoria and the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail.
“I think some people would say ‘this book is a bucket list,’” Burnette said. “I don’t know if it as much of a bucket list. If you did some of those 100 things, you are going to go someplace new, learn something new, but also enjoy how special Greenville really is.”
While researching the book, Burnette, who has lived in Greenville since 1998, reached out to locals to ensure she wasn’t missing anything.
“I have written so many articles and listicles that this kind of felt like the longest listicle of my life,” Burnette said. “It was shockingly easy to produce once I sat down and got the 100 things. Every page has about 150-160 words on it, so it’s a nice little description.”
Her book also includes itineraries, things to do by season, and additional lists or tips like where to park.
Burnette will participate in M.Judson Booksellers’ Lunch and Lit series at Soby’s in Greenville Oct. 15 from noon to 1 p.m. Admission is $55 per person and includes lunch and a copy of “100 Things to Do in Greenville.” For more information, visit mjudsonbooks.com.
