Snoop Dogg’s ice cream brand Dr. Bombay and Deel announced Dubai-based Australian Annabelle Traves as the winner of its first-ever International Ice Cream Taster. The fully remote, three-month contract pays $10,000 a month. Annabelle will help the Dr. Bombay brand expand into new markets, ideate on new flavors, and even create a Deel-themed ice cream flavor.

More than 350,000 people applied after applications opened on August 28. Deel handled hiring, compliance, and payments across more than 130 countries so the Dr. Bombay team could focus on finding the right person.

“We said anyone, anywhere could apply, and fans of Dr. Bombay really rose to the occasion. It turns out Snoop’s perfect ice cream taster is a violinist from Brisbane,” said Alex Bouaziz, Co-Founder and CEO of Deel. “Attracting, sifting through applications, hiring and onboarding talent for a challenge like this used to take months. Instead, we had Annabelle signed and ready to go just two days after she accepted the job. Any business can hire in record time the best person for the job, wherever they live – just like Dr. Bombay has,” Mr. Bouaziz said.

Dr. Maya Warren, Ice Cream Scientist® at Dr. Bombay, said, “Ice cream has this incredible way of connecting people to memories, culture and pure joy, and that’s at the heart of Dr. Bombay. We wanted someone who shares our curiosity and excitement for discovering the flavors, traditions and experiences that make ice cream special around the world. Annabelle brings that passion and fresh perspective, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to the Snoop and Dr. Bombay families.”

Annabelle Traves is one of Australia’s most prominent concert violinists, with an international career spanning classical and crossover music. She has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House and Het Concertgebouw. She was the first violinist of Andre Rieu’s Johann Strauss Orchestra on its 2022 to 2025 world tour, and more recently as a guest performer at the F1 Monaco Grand Prix. She’s also a global citizen: living between Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, and now the United Arab Emirates.

“I’ve spent my life training my ear, so I’m hoping my palate holds up to the same standard! The way I see it, tasting carefully and giving honest feedback is a lot like performing: you listen, you respond, and you try your best to make it genuinely memorable. I’m so grateful to Snoop, Dr. Bombay, and Deel for this opportunity, and I can’t wait to tune my taste-testing abilities around the world,” said Annabelle Traves. “I’m most excited about the opportunity to work with a truly global team, and am so honored to be the first to land this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
