A concerned resident is repeating a €1,000 reward offer to help prevent vandalism and anti-social behaviour which marred Halloween in east Donegal two years ago.
The bounty is being offered to anyone who can provide information to Gardaí or Donegal County Council that could help stop trouble before it happens, or lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for damaging public or private property.
On Halloween night 2024, Dromore Bridge, between Killygordon and Crossroads, became the scene of serious anti-social behaviour when tyres were set alight.
Scores of youths gathered at the location before Gardaí arrived a short time later to disperse the crowd. It was believed that many had travelled to the area from other towns and villages across the Finn Valley.
The latest reward offer comes against the backdrop of previous incidents in the area, including a vacant house being deliberately set alight several years ago.
Speaking to Donegal Daily, the resident said they were determined to do whatever they could to prevent a repeat of the destruction.
“I am again offering €1,000 to anyone who can help prevent this Halloween madness by providing information in advance to Gardaí or Donegal County Council,” they said.
“The reward can also be claimed if someone provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the wanton destruction of private or public property in our community.”

He appealed to anyone with information about those involved to come forward and contact Gardaí or a trusted member of the community.
He said that those responsible were damaging the reputation of the area and stressed that information could be provided confidentially. Cllr McGowan also said there would be an increased garda presence in the area this year again.
