Sir Tom Jones leaves ‘The Voice UK 2026′
With the end of this year’s edition of ‘The Voice UK,’ fans also had to face Sir Tom Jones’ last performance on stage before he officially left the show. The veteran singer had been a judge on the musical reality show since 2012 as one of the original coaches when the show premiered. He coached and trained contestants from 2012 to 2015, and later took a break in 2016. He returned to the show in 2017 when it moved to ITV and continued through recent seasons.Following the announcement of his departure, Jones had taken to his Facebook page and shared an update about how the decision was not something that he wanted. He wrote, “To be clear, I did not want to leave The Voice, as I love the show and really appreciate the audience. ITV made this decision—obviously a while ago, and I was told just recently. The reason given is because of a financial difficulty with insurance. They now say in the press they wanted to ‘refresh’ the show, and with a new coaching line-up there wouldn’t be a chair for me. They are offering a much-reduced role where I would make an appearance but without being actually involved from the start, and I’m not thrilled about that. So the only thing I know right now is that there’s never a good time to fire an 86-year-old who’s still pretty good at his job.”
