What a year it’s been for gamers. Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X have seen further price increases, making the five-year-old consoles significantly more expensive than they were at launch. This Prime Day Meta Quest 3S deal offers a genuine discount, though, with prices finally heading in the right direction on a piece of gaming hardware in 2025.
Given the price increases we’re seeing across most gaming hardware, we’re surprised that Meta hasn’t bumped up the MSRP of their popular VR headset yet, so we’d act fast on this one.
Usually $299, this $50 discount is the lowest price we’ve seen since the summer Prime Day a few months ago, marking only the second time this year it’s been this cheap and one of the best Prime Day deals of the season.
The Quest 3S is Meta’s most affordable VR headset. It has the same chipset and gaming performance as the pricier Quest 3, but its display isn’t as sharp. This is an excellent fit for casual users who want a more budget-friendly entry into the world of VR.
One alternative you might like instead of this version is for the larger 256GB Meta Quest 3S that also includes the excellent Batman: Arkham Shadown game.
Prime Day has reduced it to $329. That’s quite a bit more than the 128GB deal above, as storage comes at a Premium on the Meta Quest 3S.
The Batman game bought separately usually stubbornly sticks to its $49.99 price tag, so once you add that to the price of the 128GB headset, you’re actually only paying a further $30 for all that extra storage space.
However, if you’re not interested in the Batman game, it’s pretty easy to redownload games and shuffle your library every now and then to make room on the smaller headset, so you should go for that one and save some cash. Batman is fun, though, and will be a $50 purchase if you get curious later.
The larger 256GB model of the new Quest 3S is for the more dedicated VR fan keen on downloading and storing a larger number of games and apps at once. VR newcomers would be better off saving some cash with the 128GB model in our book, though. Otherwise, you’re getting the same excellent value headset, and all purchases currently include a code for the super-fun Batman: Arkham Shadow game (a $50 value). You’re also getting three months of Meta Quest+ (worth $24).
