BEMIDJI — Artist Darcy Brambrink will host an acrylic painting class inspired by her “Arctic Bear” painting from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Watermark Art Center.
Brambrink will guide painters step by step, turning simple shapes into a striking landscape filled with sweeping blues, warm autumn colors, and a bear with real presence, a release said.
Participants will learn how to see shapes, recognize light and dark values, layer acrylic color, and use expressive brushstrokes. No experience is necessary.
An $80 class fee includes all artist quality materials needed to complete an 11-by-14-inch acrylic painting on canvas.
Participants ages 16 and up may register and pay online at

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
