Sean Slater has returned to EastEnders to save Amy Mitchell from Craig Ingram. The past few episodes have seen Amy’s loved ones attempt to rescue her after she and Craig left Walford with plans to flee the country.
This led to Sean coming back to Albert Square to assist Jack, Denise and others in bringing the teen back – but what exactly is his relationship with Amy?
Played by Robert Kazinsky, the character first arrived on the soap in 2006 as Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) brother. His initial stint on the Square ended in 2009, ahead of further appearances in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
Sean has quite the history with several female Walford residents, but after a few romances, he ended up settling down with Roxy Mitchell in 2008. Roxy later welcomed a daughter, Amy, with Sean believing he was her father for the first few months of her life.

However, it was soon revealed that Jack was, in fact, Amy’s biological father, after he and Roxy had a one-night stand.
Despite this, Sean never stopped seeing Amy as his daughter. Kazinsky recently revealed that his character had made a promise to her mum Roxy to keep protecting her, which he intends to keep.
After Amy visited Denise in hospital, Sean confronted Craig in the car park to teach him a lesson, though this didn’t end up working as Amy and Craig eventually fled back to the bedsit.
But despite not having a strong connection with Sean, Amy later defended him when Craig called him a psychopath. Later on, after sitting on the new information she’d received from Denise about Craig’s suspension, she began to doubt their relationship.

And in today’s episode (5 November), Amy is seen returning home, though she is hesitant to reveal what happened between her and Craig.
Fearing that she might go to prison, she asks Sean if he’ll watch a movie with her. The moment marks the first time she and her stepdad have spent time together in a while.
But when she is about to tell him the truth, detectives arrive at the house to ask her questions, leading Amy to lie about the confrontation.
