Manga Plus description of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo reads: “It’s been 68 years since the Culling Game. In 2086, an alien race known as the Simurians arrive on Earth in a spaceship. The fate of the world lies in the hands of two Jujutsu Sorcerers, Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu. Jujutsu Sorcerers and aliens, what chaos will be born from this meeting?”

JJK author Akutami explained his reasoning for expanding the Jujutsu Kaisen universe through this new series, which is something he’s been hesitant about in the past. “While serializing Jujutsu Kaisen, I received several offers for spinoffs written by others. However, because manga is a medium where things can easily get out of my control, I was afraid of the title spreading in ways I couldn’t manage, so at the time, I couldn’t accept those offers.”

Akutami continues: “But when this particular offer came, and I thought about how it might expand the main story, delve deeper into its setting, or even shift eras entirely, I realized that if it were set in a parallel line, it could open the door to many different projects. This became the spark that gave rise to Modulo, which originally didn’t even have a single concrete idea, and after numerous planning meetings, it finally came to life.”

JJK Seasons 1-2 are available to stream on Crunchyroll. GKIDS will release Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution theatrically in North America on December 5, 2025. The upcoming JJK movie includes the “Shibuya Incident Arc” and the first two episodes of the “Culling Game.” Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will premiere on Crunchyroll in January 2026.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s official description reads: “For some strange reason, Yuji Itadori, despite his insane athleticism, would rather just hang out with the Occult Club. However, he soon finds out that the occult is as real as it gets when his fellow club members are attacked! Meanwhile, the mysterious Megumi Fushiguro is tracking down a special-grade cursed object, and his search leads him to Itadori…”
