On October 13, 2025, Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, representing Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan Kapur, argued before the Delhi High Court that the will of their late father, Sunjay Kapur, is likely forged. Appearing before Justice Jyoti Singh, Jethmalani challenged the document allegedly favoring Kapur’s third wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur, stating, “Circumstantial evidence shows clearly that the contents of the will are forged and is buried in deep suspicion.”

Jethmalani highlighted issues with the will’s digital file, a Microsoft Word document created on February 10 and last modified on March 7, stored on the device of Nitin Sharma, a reported associate of Priya Kapur and one of the will’s two witnesses. He questioned the logic of Sunjay Kapur modifying the document on someone else’s device while vacationing in Goa with his son, calling it implausible. Jethmalani also noted that the file’s metadata suggests it originated from another computer, adding, “Whether it is the actual will, we do not know. There is acute secrecy among them.”

At an earlier hearing on October 9, Jethmalani had raised concerns about the will’s authenticity, pointing out that the executor was unaware of her appointment, which he described as “highly suspicious.” He further noted the absence of affidavits from the two witnesses. Sunjay Kapur, aged 53, passed away from a heart attack on June 12, 2025, during a polo match in the United Kingdom.
