Speaking in a new interview on Monday with HELLO!’s Second Act podcast, she recalled how being a mother ‘broke her heart.’

Patsy said: ‘My son’s are incredible. Being a mother has broken my heart. because they grow and they leave.

‘I was so codependent on them to the point it wasn’t fair on them. I could sense that in them.

‘They’re 25 and 33, I mean, I had a child at that age, and so I think for a few years, I put way too much pressure on them. So watching them leave home was tough.’

She continued: ‘My eldest son is pathological about his privacy. I always kept them out, away from children’s premieres, I didn’t want to open the door to them being photographed.’

When Patsy starred as Sadie King in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale she admitted she would commute to the set in the Yorkshire Dales, to avoid uprooting her son’s lives.

‘I would commute, driving to Emmerdale, ITV pulled me in at one point and was like “this is dangerous what you are doing”

‘I couldn’t have pulled them out of school and out them in one up North. I would always use the kids as an excuse like, “I have to get back to the kids.”

‘I would take James everywhere with me, but it got to the point that I couldn’t keep dragging him out of school.’

He added: ‘I used to try and steal his clothes, but I always had more luck with Mum’s.’

Patsy revealed she only discovered her son was taking her clothes when she saw him wearing them on the front of a magazine.

The actress said: ‘I spent forever looking for a Sid Vicious T-shirt from a Corinne Day shoot in the ’90s. Then one day, Lennon’s wearing it in a magazine.’

Even more recently Lennon was caught red-handed wearing another piece from her Sid Vicious collection in an Instagram post in October.

Posing in the black and white snap, Patsy commented: ‘Isn’t that my t shirt? love you’.

Lennon also revealed the upcoming Oasis reunion tour will be the first time he has seen his father and uncle play together, save for when he was a child in noise-cancelling headphones.

The world went crazy after the Brit pop duo announced their tour last August.

And speaking about the magnitude of their success Lennon said: ‘I don’t think I understood the scale of it all until the band split.

‘People would all of a sudden come up to me in the playground and be like, “Oh, my God, have you heard about this?” I just remember thinking, “Oh, s**t… they were massive.”‘
