Nicolas Cage enjoyed a rare outing with his wife, Riko Shibata, and their three-year-old daughter, August Francesca Coppola, over the weekend.
The Oscar-winning actor, 62, sported a casual yet cool look in a velvet jacket on his way to a restaurant in Malibu, California.
His spouse, who he met in Shiga, Japan while he was filming the movie Prisoners of the Ghostland, kept things relaxed in jeans and a black tee as she walked alongside their little one.
Meanwhile, August looked absolutely adorable in colorful sneakers as she held on tightly to her water bottle.
The family sighting comes during a difficult time following reports involving Cage’s eldest son, Weston, whose mom, Christina Fulton, accused him of attacking her outside his apartment complex last year.
During his hearing in April, the 34-year-old musician was granted a two-year mental health diversion program to resolve the two felony assault charges against him.

‘Mr. Cage does suffer from an eligible mental health disorder. I’m satisfied it was a significant factor in the commission of the charged offenses,’ Los Angeles County Judge Enrique Monguia declared. ‘It’s obvious he was suffering a breakdown at the time.’
Weston’s lawyer ‘requested the diversion after saying his client had received intensive inpatient and outpatient treatment following the incident on April 28, 2024,’ according to Rolling Stone.
At the time of the alleged assaults, his attorney, Michael A. Goldstein, stated ‘Weston had changed doctors and had only just started a new medication.’
Following the sentencing hearing, Fulton had a message for her ex, telling Cage in an interview with TMZ, ‘Take care of my son, our son.’
She stated that Weston has neither apologized nor expressed remorse, and confirmed they are not allowed to communicate.
However, in a message to him, she said, ‘I love you, son.’
Since his arrest, Goldstein noted that his client has remained sober and that Weston ‘hasn’t felt this good in years.’
‘He’s in a good head space, about to get married. He moved away from the location living in before and is definitely making progress,’ Goldstein said.

The judge decided if Weston follows his treatment plan and doctors’ orders and ‘stays out of trouble’ that the case could be dismissed in April 2027.
Fulton expressed her support for Weston diversion program over prison, but also requested her son be required to to do ‘another couple months of inpatient treatment.’
Fulton also went into graphic detail about the night she was allegedly assault and left with life-threatening injuries.
‘Nothing prepared me for April 28th, 2024, the night my son almost took my life,’ she told the court.
Fulton alleged that she rushed to his apartment after someone called her to say he was setting it ‘on fire.’
When she got there, Fulton claims Weston was ‘furious’ and would not accept the cheeseburger she brought to him.

Fulton alleged that he ‘snapped’ after a car pulled up and rattled a gate.
Per Rolling Stone, Fulton claimed her son ‘grabbed her by her hair, shoved her to the floor of an elevator and got on top of her.’
During the alleged incident, she said he began ‘crushing and ‘suffocating’ her with his full body weight.
‘He shoved his thumb in my eye socket. The pain was excruciating. My vision went black,’ she said. ‘I was losing consciousness.’
Fulton said after the elevator door opened, he allegedly attacked his best friend, who is the other alleged victim in the criminal case.
Fulton said Weston allegedly returned to slam her into a wall, stand on her neck and strangle her as his friend desperately attempted to pull him off of her.
‘If it wasn’t for [the friend] who risked his life to save me, my family would have buried me, and Weston would have gone to prison,’ she claimed.

Although she ‘repeatedly expressed love for her son,’ Fulton claimed he has never expressed any ‘remorse or accountability’ over the alleged incident.
As she spoke, Weston was described as looking ‘straight ahead’ and not ‘responding to her words.’
‘I’ve been demonized for being a good mother,’ Fulton said. ‘Now I stand here, pleading for one thing: that he gets the help he deserves. Please help my son.’
In addition to ordering the mental health diversion program, the judge said ‘Weston is prohibited from harassing his alleged victims and possessing any weapons for the next two years.’
A progress report hearing was set for July.
Weston – who previously entered a not guilty plea – was arrested in July 2024 on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, and was released on a $150,000 bond.
After his arrest, she released a statement, which read: ‘On April 28th, 2024, around 5:30 PM I received urgent messages from friends of my son, Weston Cage regarding his deteriorating mental state, urging me to come help. When I arrived to offer support and console him, he was already in the midst of a manic rage. Within minutes, I was brutally assaulted and sustained serious injuries.’

Earlier this year, Fulton’s case against her ex, Nicolas Cage, was dismissed after she sued him for negligence.
In the lawsuit filed in February, Fulton accused Nicolas of enabling their son’s ‘reckless’ by bailing him out of jail on several occasions, supporting him financially and drinking alcohol with Weston ‘despite knowing his substance abuse history.’
She also alleged that Nicolas of failing to help his son receive ‘necessary psychiatric’ help.
At the time, Nicolas’ lawyer hit back at Fulton’s claims in a statement to People, which read: ‘The allegations by Christina Fulton against Nicolas Cage are absurd and frivolous.
‘Weston Coppola is a 34-year-old man. Mr. Cage does not control Weston’s behavior in any manner and is not responsible for Weston’s alleged assault of his mother.’
