17 Oct – EJAE, the composer of “Golden” is set to make her debut as a solo artiste with a single called, “In Another World”.
The singer-songwriter, who is best known for composing songs in the Netflix animated feature “KPop Demon Hunters” and being the singing voice behind its main character Rumi, will be releasing the said single on 24 October.
Speaking at a press conference in Seoul on 15 October, she said, “I’ve always thought being a composer is the most important thing for me, so honestly, I never really considered myself an artiste.”
“But because people have been showing me so much love and support and saying that they want to hear me sing, it made me rethink what being an artiste means. And I came to the conclusion that a composer is also an artiste,” she enthused.
EJAE, who was a SM Entertainment trainee for a decade prior to her departure to make her own way, also stated that she will continue to compose songs for other artistes while also releasing her own songs that resonate personally.
She also planned to work with many artistes in the future.
“In K-pop, I’d love to work with Aespa. I think my sound would fit them really well. And of course, collaborating with BTS would be an incredible honour, especially Jungkook, who’s amazing. On the pop side, I’d love to write or sing with Dua Lipa or Sabrina Carpenter someday,” she said.
