A social media celebrity made a three-hour journey to Co Cork to sample the food at Ireland’s first Wendy’s location – and one menu item left him “surprised”.

Garron Noone, who boasts four million followers on Instagram and TikTok, traveled from Dublin to experience the fast food chain that operates 6,000 locations across America.

This month, Cork welcomed Ireland’s first Wendy’s outlet, renowned for its square patties, fiery chicken sandwiches and signature Frosty treat.

Opening his newest vlog, Garron couldn’t resist poking fun at the destination. He said: “Ok, so Ireland has just gotten a Wendy’s, this is obviously huge news. I am up early to make the pilgrimage. It is about 6am. I think Wendy’s is about three hours away.

“This may be the furthest anyone has ever traveled for a Wendy’s, and I am happy to be the man to do it.”, reports Cork Beo.

Showcasing his comedic flair, he continued: “And so began the long and treacherous journey to Cork – home to Wendy’s in Ireland.”

Upon reaching The Rebel County, Garron was instantly amazed by the lengthy line for Wendy’s at the Mahon Point Shopping Center.

He added: “They have balloons up and everything. This is a massive event for Ireland.”

Garron was accompanied on his adventure by fellow social media personality James Doyle. The pair sampled various selections from bacon burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets to chili cheese fries.

And discussing the meat quality, Garron remarked: “The chicken is actually very good. I’m surprised. I wasn’t expecting much but the chicken is nice.”

Regarding the renowned Frosty dessert, which blends ice cream and milkshake, the Mayo native described it as “delicious” before delivering his comprehensive assessment.

He stated: “I think I am going to give Wendy’s a solid 6.8 out of ten. I think it is a strong seven if you are in the mood for it. It is up there now, you know.

“I don’t give away 6.8s very easily. Michelin star is like a 7.2 so I’ve yet to have food that is an eight.”

Wrapping up, he noted: “Also, a lot of Americans told me I had to dip my fries into a Frosty, so here you go, I’ve done that for you.

“Ehm, and I have to conclude that it’s absolutely fine. Everybody was like, if you dip your fries into a Frosty your mind will be blown but no, my mind is very much intact.

“It just tastes like chips and a Frosty put together and honestly I would rather them separately so there you go, that’s my review of that.”
