Longtime viewers of Teen Mom are well-aware of Farrah Abraham’s … extreme … behavior. Even though she hasn’t been on the MTV franchise in years, Abraham keeps a very active social media presence, which often includes sharing her controversial takes (and, as some would argue, her controversial parenting decisions).
While Abraham most recently came under fire last week for allowing her 16-year-old daughter, Sophia, to get her first tattoo — in most states, it is illegal to get inked under 18 without a parent’s consent — this time, the Teen Mom alum has caused even more backlash by letting the teen permanently file her teeth into vampire fangs.
To be fair, fans are loving Sophia’s goth look — and have frequently praised Farrah for letting her daughter choose her own style and be her own individual — but the criticism over Sophia’s latest body mod is aimed squarely at Abraham.
“This is absolutely CRAZY!!!” one person exclaimed. “I cannot believe you allow your MINOR child to make these permanent decisions! It’s disturbing. Great job mom!!!”
“This goes beyond being a ‘supportive’ parent,” another wrote. “That’s too young to do permanent things to yourself. You can do so many other things to be supportive and let your child be expressive.”
“This is going way too far ðŸ˜,” a third commenter opined. “Parent your child first! Befriend them later.”
Despite the dozens of negative comments, there were fans who stuck up for Abraham’s parenting style.
“Farrah is the mom support everyone wish they had as a kid,” one person wrote.
“Wow!! So cool to be able to live ur youth how u like!” penned another fan in a comment directed at Sophia.
Abraham has repeatedly allowed Sophia to express herself through body modifications, revealing that the teen got six facial piercings in one day when she was 14 years old.
