Monaghan Town has received a major jobs boost following the opening of a new ALDI store.
The new €14m million store created a total of 30 new permanent jobs in the town.
The newest store, located on Broad Road, is the retailer’s first in Monaghan Town and second in the county.
ALDI first established a presence in Monaghan with the opening of its Carrickmacross store in 2014 and has since spent nearly €24 million in capital investment in the county.
The business now employs over 60 people locally, with the Carrickmacross store welcoming nearly half a million customers in 2024.
Minister Niamh Smyth says this investment in the local community will create valuable local employment while also supporting the local economy.
