The FAI have managed to shave just over €1million from their debt but the figure still stands at an eye-watering €42m.

And according to accounts for 2024, issued by the association today ahead of their AGM next month, there was a worrying drop in matchday-related revenue, down from €18.6m in 2023 to €14.3m last year. The drop is believed to be related to the level of games played at senior men’s international level, while the 2024 accounts did not contain the financial bonus from 2023 of the women’s team playing at the World Cup finals.
