Netflix has confirmed its new coming-of-age series Crew Girl. Filming has begun on the drama today in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and is scheduled to run through to the end of the year. Here’s the latest on what we know.

You may remember we reported on this project back in late August under the working title/codename of Easton Prep. We also included the fact that Warrior Nun and BET, creator Simon Barry, would be on the director’s team for the series, and we can now add Jacquie Gould to the director’s roster for the show. Gould has previously worked on Outlander, BET, Fire Country, and the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Assistant directors on the project include David Klohn, Nathan Kay, Eddy Santos, Liam Powell, Dylan Castro, and Katie Rabb.

As previously reported, Vivian Lin, best known for her work on SkyMed and The Lake, will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

A new logline for the series reads as follows:

“A frothy, coming-of-age teen drama about a 16-year-old female rower Teagan who becomes the coxswain of a dysfunctional all-boys rowing team at an elite East Coast Prep School. Warring rivals, messy romantic entanglements, and betrayed friendships spill drama both in and out of the boat. Not to mention her complicated relationship with her mom, Ella. The team’s a mess, her life’s a mess. Can she fix both and win?”

As mentioned, production on the series is underway, with production continuing through to at least December 10th, 2025.
