A well-known Irish hotelier embroiled in a dispute with a business associate has been hit with a High Court order restraining him from dissipating proceeds from the sale of a boutique hotel in the south of Spain.

The court heard claims Denis Connolly, co-owner of Tinakilly House in Co Wicklow, had sold the Finca Monasterio hotel in Cadiz for just over €5m despite giving assurances earlier this year, via his then lawyers, that he would not do so.
