TWO Limerick senior hurling stars played impressive roles as the Ireland shinty side retained the Mowi Quaich Cup when defeating Scotland in the Hurling-Shinty International Rules series over the weekend.
Dan Morrissey and Shane O’Brien were key members of the Ireland side which made it three wins on the spin with a hard fought victory over Scotland at a windswept Bught Park in Inverness.
The Ireland side secured a hard fought 3-3 to 2-4 victory over their Scottish opponents.
Ahane’s Dan Morrissey captained Ireland in the fixture, while Shane O’Brien contributed a crucial point in the two-point success over their hosts.
