It’s not certain if a legal action against the company behind the Rose of Tralee International Festival will proceed following the death of the US businessman who took the case.

The late Dick Henggeler, who owned The Rose Hotel in Tralee, had initiated proceedings against Kerry Rose Festival Ltd.

One related to a repayment of a loan of over €96,000 which was repaid.

Mr Henggeler also alleged he was an oppressed shareholder, and this action has been ongoing.

The High Court heard yesterday Dick Henggeler had died earlier this month.

The case has been adjourned until December when it may become clear if Mr Henggeler’s estate will continue with the action.
