The young man who was found unresponsive after a serious assault in Kildare town over the weekend has died in hospital.
The man, aged in his 20s, was found on McGee Terrace at approximately 3:15am on Sunday.
He was taken to Naas General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, but has since died.
The coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone with information in relation to this incident.
Any road users who were in the area between 2:00am and 4:00am and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
