Scott Bemand was less than three minutes into his post-match press conference in Ravenhill last March when he flagged a possible rematch six months down the line. Ireland had just lost 15-27 to France in their first game of the 2025 Women’s Six Nations and the head coach highlighted when they could meet France again.
“Particularly with the World Cup on the horizon, this could very well be a quarter-final,” Bemand said at the time.
