Feast by Lidl adds extra date for 5-course Christmas dinner event by Michelin Chef for €20
Lidl has added a new date for their Feast by Lidl event due to popular demand. The five-course Christmas tasting menu, curated by Michelin-starred chef Oliver Dunne, takes place in Dublin’s The Chocolate Factory.
Following an overwhelming response with Saturday and Sunday sittings now sold out, a new date for Friday, November 7 has been added. Tickets for the new date are on sale now via Eventbrite, priced at €20.
The unique seasonal dining experience promises to be full of “festive surprises and unexpected twists.” 100% of proceeds from the event go to Family Carers Ireland.
There is a theme on the night, as guests can discover whether they fall into the category of naughty or nice. Attendees can choose between two tasting menus that reflect Ireland’s love for Christmas cuisine.
The nice menu will be a classic tasting journey through some of the best selling Christmas foods with the warm and traditional taste of home. Guests on the nice side can expect a “larger-than-life” dining setting full of Christmas cheer.
Meanwhile the naughty menu is on hand to cater to the tastes of the experimentalists. The menu is a “playful reimagining” of the nation’s most divisive festive foods.
Each course is perfectly paired with Lidl’s curated selection of wines, beers and spirits, showcasing the quality and value at the heart of the Lidl Deluxe range. After all, it is not a tasting menu without some complimenting drinks.
New research from Lidl Ireland reveals that 81% of people value a traditional Christmas dinner. Two-thirds say that the day would be ruined without turkey and ham on the table.
However, some households across Ireland are breaking tradition, swapping turkey for beef, duck or even venison. Brussels sprouts also continue to divide opinion with almost one in five people refusing them on Christmas day.

Chef Oliver Dunne said: “Feast by Lidl is a Christmas dining experience like no other and I’m so excited to work with Lidl Ireland on this unique concept. Christmas dinner is sacred, particularly in Ireland – it’s about comfort, nostalgia and family. However, food should also surprise you. Feast by Lidl takes the familiar and flips it on its head. It’s festive dining that proves great food and great value can absolutely share the same table. Working with Lidl Ireland’s fresh seasonal ingredients, locally sourced from Irish suppliers, I’ve created two unique menus celebrating the best of Christmas food.”
“The Nice menu is designed to be a festive food hug, showcasing the best in fresh Irish seafood, succulent turkey and ham with all the trimmings and decadent desserts, whilst the Naughty menu puts the forgotten festive fayre in the centre of the table, from tender duck, to juicy scallops and indulgent pâté. Whether you’re naughty or nice this year, Feast by Lidl will challenge perceptions and leave you wanting more.”
The event will celebrate the best of Lidl Ireland Deluxe Christmas food and drink range while raising vital funds for carers. Tickets for the new date are on sale now via Eventbrite.
