You may have heard of The Traitors Ireland. You may well be one of the 600,000-odd people who tuned in to the first episode on RTÉ One and have been glued ever since.

And if you are, you’ll get the gist of the game by now: that the ‘traitors’, as chosen by host Siobhán McSweeney, need to be fairly deceptive, two-faced and backstabby in order to get ahead and stay undetected. The job spec is fairly straightforward – lie like you are being paid by the hour to do it.
