Cork City’s Brody Lee was handed a late cameo as Ireland’s U17 boys footballers stormed to victory in their World Cup opener on Wednesday afternoon.

Ireland registered a dominant 4-1 win over Panama in Doha as one of Tipperary’s brightest young talents got his chance to shine.
Roscrea native Lee, the son of local councillor Shane Lee, came off the bench in the 86th minute to make his U17 World Cup debut, a proud moment for the former Killavilla United player who now lines out with Cork City.
Lee will be amongst the squad that will face Uzbekistan in the second group game this Saturday afternoon at 12:30pm.
