It’s become a byword for laid-back, “Cool Girl” French style, and now Irish customers can finally browse the Sézane rails in person.

The label, which began life with owner Morgane Sézalory touting market stall buys, is one of fashion’s biggest success stories and is reported to be worth billions, with devotees ranging from Kate Middleton to Sienna Miller.

There are currently seven Sézane stores in Paris and two in London, ten in the US, and more scattered across Europe, with that list now growing to include an Irish offering in the form of a pop-up.

Morgane has long had a fondness for Ireland, having visited many times over the years, and is particularly taken by the Irish sense of style.

Her first Irish pop-up is in Brown Thomas on Grafton Street, with the brand available to shop on the second floor from November 6.

There’s a wide range of products on offer, from leather goods such as handbags and shoes to tailored blazers and jewellery.

Sézane is perhaps most famous for its knitwear, and the Brown Thomas offering does not disappoint on this front, with a wall of cosy knits to choose from.

‘Ireland has always had a special place in my heart, and I’ve long admired its warmth and sense of style,’ Morgane told the Irish Times.

Delving into her own sense of style, Morgane chalked her love of the vintage aesthetic and resourcefulness to her mother, who grew up in a large family and who sadly became ill with cancer in 2024.

‘I was with her during treatment, and it was the first time I had time to think and slow down and really saw what I had built for myself with a plan.

‘I am 40 now, and it has led me to a good place, and I am happy that someone like me has managed to build a company where people feel happy.

‘I am instinctive, intuitive, and when hiring people, I have a second sense and try to give a chance to those who might not otherwise have one.

Sézane is open in Brown Thomas now.
