If you’ve ever been around a toddler, you know they can be very energetic. Those curious little ones run, jump, play, and explore everything around them, and they’ll still have energy to spare. That same excitement that human children have, animal babies can also show, and it’s called the zoomies.
The Fort Worth Zoo (@fortworthzoo) just gave us all a treat. A baby elephant recently caught a case of the zoomies, and this video is so adorable it will have you pressing replay over and aver again.
Talk about cuteness overload! In the post caption, the zoo simply wrote, “Baby elephant zoomies in full swing!” And it’s clear this tiny elephant has a ton of energy to work off, and there seems to be plenty to keep this baby occupied.
As shown in the video, this little one is full of spirit. They started off trying to use their trunk to lift a log, and that attempt was sadly unsuccessful. As the video caption mentioned, this elephant is “still perfecting those log-moving skills!”

When this baby elephant couldn’t move the log, they went on to run around their habitat. One minute this elephant was running around. Next, they were sitting down in the dirt and playing around.
Then this lively elephant was up and at it again. They went on exploring more of their surroundings, but that calf couldn’t stay away from the log. The baby elephant ended up circling it before running off again.
While all of this was going on, the adult elephants were so calm as this little one was zooming about. They were just like human parents when they’re waiting for kids to tire themselves out.
People Are Smitten With This Baby Elephant
Watching this little elephant’s shear joy has made many TikTok viewers’ day. Some of them can’t get over the enthusiasm this baby has. “How cute can a baby elephant get!” said user @susanmathis94, and @denalijordan5 remarked, “The little one is just so adorable.”
Many commented on this elephant calf’s liveliness. @thatscifichick described this baby’s moves and added, “I don’t know why I’m moving; I just know I gotta keep moving!” Isn’t that just like a kid?
Another person did compare this calf to school kids. @firstgradesprinkles said, “Reminds me so much of my first graders.”
In no time, this baby elephant will grow up. It’s fun to see the curious stage this calf is in as they learn about the world. We can’t wait to see this baby discover and explore more!
