Gardaí and emergency services are currently at North Strand Road, Dublin 1, following the discovery of a suspicious device.
The services of the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit were requested and they are currently conducting an examination of the scene, a garda spokesperson said.
The road is currently closed from the 5 Lamps Junction to the North Strand Road (Newcomen) Bridge.
Local diversions are in place.
