Citylink officials are assisting Gardaí in an investigation after video surfaced online showing a woman trapped inside a suitcase.
In a statement released tonight, Citylink confirmed that the woman in question was an “unauthorised” passenger on their service. The clip appeared to show a woman inside a suitcase in the hold of the popular Galway Bus company.
In the video, the suitcase is positioned on its side and a woman can be heard screaming. The person who is recording approaches the suitcase and unzips it to find a woman who appears confused and afraid. A man can be heard asking her, “who put you in there?” before she eventually manages to get out of the suitcase, saying, “thank god, thank god.” The woman then sits up and puts her head in her hands.
In a statement to Galway Beo, a Citylink spokesperson said: “We are aware of the footage involving an unauthorised traveller on one of our services. We have assisted the Garda with their investigation.”
