Having met with Australian parliamentarians in Switzerland to discuss the challenges their assisted dying laws have faced, Wicklow campaigner Tom Curran has highlighted how Ireland risks repeating the same legislative mistakes if it were to adopt restrictive time frames for citizens to qualify.
Arklow resident Tom was recently invited to the Australian embassy in Bern to speak with a six-member delegation of parliamentarians visiting Europe to study how the long-standing Swiss assisted dying system operates.
