It’s rare to see a TV drama capture audiences the way this one managed when it debuted in 2017, and all these years on, viewers continue to recommend it relentlessly.
The psychological crime thriller, Mindhunter, quickly attracted fans when it first premiered seven years ago on Netflix.
Set in the 1970s during a period when criminal profiling had only just started and based on a true crime book , the acclaimed series follows the behavioural science division within the FBI as they work to track down serial killers.
Mindhunter centres around three principal characters, FBI operatives Holden Ford and Bill Tench, alongside psychologist Wendy Carr, who run the FBI’s Behavioural Science Division.

As a strong force, they launch an entirely new project to question already-imprisoned murderers in an attempt to comprehend their behaviour and psychology.
Through this approach, they aim to develop a better understanding of the current criminals they’re dealing with, in the hope of solving ongoing cases.
Though as the programme progresses, the second series is situated in the 80s, chronicling an actual case involving murderer Wayne Williams, reports the Express
One viewer posted on Rotten Tomatoes stating: “Very, very well written, hooked right from the start, this could easily be one of the best shows Netflix created. Shame on them for letting it slip away.”

The first season of the series, made up of of 10 episodes, was released on Netflix in 2017. Due to its popularity, fans didn’t have to wait long for more, with a second season arriving in 2019.
In 2020, it was announced that while the creators were working on other projects, they intended to ‘revisit’ Mindhunter in the future – before confirming in 2023 that the series had concluded.
The beloved series starred Jonathan Groff as Holden Ford, Holt McCallany as Bill Tench, and Anna Torv as Wendy Carr. The series was directed by award-winning filmmaker David Fincher, renowned for his work on 90s films such as Seven and Fight Club, as well as modern classics like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl.
