Coronation Street’s Roy Cropper is set to hide a big secret next week, as he arouses suspicion over a mysterious new friend. Things will kick off when Nina Lucas notices that Roy is obsessed with the post.

She wonders what’s going on and outright asks him what he’s hiding and who he’s writing letters to.

Recently, Roy has been letting Abi Webster and her son Alfie lodge at his after her affair with Kevin’s brother Carl was exposed, and her marriage collapsed.

Next week will also see Roy suggest that Carl could look Alfie and bond with him after he he comes back from nursery early due to being poorly.

Unfortunately, Roy’s advice backfires as Alfie doesn’t given Carl the time of day, and only brightens up when Kevin turns up.

Could Carl’s inability to connect with Alfie contribute to him not wanting to commit to a relationship with Abi (multiple characters have mentioned he’s not the type to settle down, and tried to keep his casual fling with James going on the side).
