Carlow businessman accused of revenue offences seeks to hold gardaí in contempt for refusing him access to US as he awaits trial
Illann Power
Entrepreneur Illann Power, who is awaiting trial accused of almost 90 revenue and reckless filing offences, is seeking to have gardaí held in contempt for refusing to allow him to travel to the US while on bail.
Mr Power claimed in the High Court that a lead investigating garda attached to the Corporate Enforcement Authority (CEA) had refused to consent to the proposed trip in “retaliation” for the businessman being granted an injunction restraining state agencies from destroying or disposing of documents and electronic data relating to his prosecution.
