There has been no bigger signal of Kia Joorabchian’s ambitions in British racing than his purchase of the historic Freemason Lodge.

Formerly the base of ten-time champion Flat trainer Sir Michael Stoute, Freemason Lodge on Newmarket’s prestigious Bury Road was put up for sale after the master trainer’s decision to retire at the end of last season.

Documents made public in recent days by the Land Registry show Joorabchian’s Amo Racing Holdings Limited paid £5.3 million for the yard, which has since undergone extensive renovation and has been the base of Amo Racing’s principal trainer Kevin Philippart de Foy since July.
