Located on Laharn Road, Lidl Killorglin marks a major milestone in the retailer’s ambitious expansion programme and has created 30 permanent retail jobs for the community in what has been a highly anticipated store opening.

Kerry ladies Gaelic football star and Lidl ambassador, Síofra O’Shea, had the honour of cutting the ribbon and greeting customers on Thursday morning, November 13 alongside Regional Managing Director for Lidl Ireland Tara O’Connor.

As part of its commitment to the local community and to mark the opening day celebrations representatives from St Vincent De Paul and Family Carers Ireland received a donation of €500 each in Lidl vouchers from the Killorglin store team.

The new Killorglin store reflects Lidl’s established ‘concept’ design and features a spacious 1,398 sqm sales floor area, offering a premier shopping experience for customers with self-service checkouts, long tills, and the popular in-store bakery offering fresh baked goods daily.

Sustainability is a key focus for the Killorglin store as the retail unit incorporates an ISO 50001-certified energy management system.

On the morning of the store opening, Regional Managing Director for Lidl Ireland Tara O’Connor, said:

“On behalf of Lidl Ireland, I am delighted to officially open our new Killorglin store. It has long been our ambition to bring our market-leading value to Killorglin, and we are thrilled to finally welcome the local community to the store today.

Lidl Ambassador and Kerry LGFA Player, Síofra O’Shea, added:

“I am delighted to be part of the celebrations this morning and to officially open Lidl’s new store in Killorglin. It was great fun to be part of the official ribbon cutting and meeting all the customers. Lidl has been a fantastic partner to the LGFA for years, and it’s great to see them investing even more in our community. This new store is a huge boost for the area!”
