A new study has revealed that Cavan is amongst Ireland’s hardest-working counties.
It ranked 8th in the national Hard-Working Index compiled by Procure.ie.
The research from business utility consultants Procure.ie analysed the latest figures from the CSO to compare how far people travel to work, how long these journeys take, and how many people are unemployed in each county.

These factors were combined to produce a score ranking every county in Ireland from hardest to least hard-working.
Cavan earned a score of 240.9, reflecting low unemployment and relatively long commute distances.
While neighbouring Leitrim ranks third on the list with a score of 249, with Co. Longford on the other end of the scale ranking 10th.
The findings highlight the commitment and work ethic of local residents, who demonstrate strong participation in the workforce, showing exceptional dedication to their jobs.
